Day 7: Scorching sun and slag - by Alex

Day  7 of the dig today brought scorching sun and no wind which made digging very hot work indeed. 

Excavation continues to go well and for some time this afternoon I was in the finds tent cleaning finds, which was even hotter! The finds I was principally cleaning today were various bits of bone and pottery. I also cleaned up pieces of slag possibly from iron processing, now discarded as rubbish.
