We're back for our 12th season. Keep up to date with all the discoveries, brought to you by our daily bloggers.

Countdown to the 2012 Season!

It's almost here! The 2012 excavation season of the University of Chester and CWAC begins in Grosvenor Park in the middle of Chester on May 8th. The plan is to continue exploring the post-medieval building located last year and hopefully get deeper into history and find evidence of Medieval and, of course, Roman activity. We dig Monday - Friday (except bank holidays) and will even witness the passing of the Olympic Torch through Chester on May 29th. If you are in Chester, feel free to stop by the trench for a chat and see what we are up to, or visit us on our official Open Day on the 29th of May for a chance to handle artefacts such as Roman pottery, Civil War lead shot and much more! We'll be posting regularly starting on the 8th of May with a whole new cast of 2nd year archaeology students ( and some of the same cast of lecturers and council archaeology specialists).
